British Sporting Art

March 1st until October 31st: Gallery 2

The British Sporting Art Trust was established to bring together a representative collection of sporting art for public exhibition and to promote interest in the subject. This exhibition contains some fine examples from the collection in the form of paintings, prints and sculptures representing a selection of sports including hunting,shooting, fishing, boxing, archery, rowing and horseracing.

                                                        


Two important pictures by John Ferneley Snr (A Run near Melton Mowbray and Hunting in Croxton Park, Huntingdonshire) are the focal point of the 2010 exhibition in the British Sporting Art Trust’s Vestey Gallery.



Hunting through the Ages features pictures from the Golden Age of Hunting through to the present day.
