The Classic Tour
Privileged visits of working establishments in Newmarket. You will see horses at close quarters and meet stable staff in this two-hour tour, as well as horses training on the gallops, the horses’ swimming pool, a training yard and the historic town.
Tours depart at 9.20am on Museum open days, (except Sundays)
£23.00 adults, £21.00 concessions, including entry to the Museum and exhibitions.

Newmarket Experience Tour
Morning tour as The Classic Tour above with a visit to the National Stud in the afternoon. Please note that visitors are required to get themselves to the National Stud for the 2pm tour.

Historic Newmarket Tour

With the Museum’s assistant curator take in the fascinating stories of Newmarket’s past from its royal origins, colourful characters and scandals in this two hour tour. Please arrive at 1pm to allow time to visit the Museum galleries before commencing the minibus tour at 2pm.
Price £15.00 (£13.50 concessions) Includes a Newmarket Trail guide book.

Private Stud Tour to Dalham Hall Stud
See the mare and foals at close quarters and admire the stallions at this prestigious stud. You will also visit a trainer’s yard and the training grounds. Tour departs at 9.00am on the following Saturdays and lasts approximately 2 1/2 hours:
12th April, 10th May, 14th June, 19th July, 30th August and 13th September 2008.

Our best selling tour, including a visit to the training gallops, the horse swimming pool and a training yard, followed by an afternoon at Newmarket races with an expect guide to help you pick a winner! Includes entry to the Grandstand and Paddock enclosure.

06.45 start outside the Museum, proceed onto the gallops to see the horses from the leading yards exercising, followed by a town tour and back to the Museum for a cooked breakfast at 08.30. Concluded by a visit to the galleries.

Fred Archer Tour
Thursday 22nd May and Thursday 4th September 2008.
With the Museum's curator, follow in the footsteps of the famous 19th century jockey Fred Archer; a fascinating life mixed with success and tragedy. The tour includes entry to the museum and lasts approx. 2 hours. Please arrive at the Museum an hour before the tour commences at 2pm in order to allow time to view the galleries.
£18.00 (no concessions) includes entry to the Museum.
