The Holiday Activity & Food Fund Programme

The National Horseracing Museum has teamed up with Suffolk County Council, West Suffolk Council, the Association for Suffolk Museums and the Department for Education for 2022’s The Holiday Activity and Food Fund Programme, also known as The HAF Programme.

What is The HAF Programme?

The HAF Programme supports children and families in the school holidays. Outside of term-time, the Programme provides healthy food and enriching activities to free school meal eligible children in every local authority in England. The Programme has been significantly expanded for 2022 and the National Horseracing Museum is proud to be involved in 2022. To find out more click here.

Our Summer Holiday activities have been designed to allow children to learn more about horseracing and the history of this noble sport, to find out more about some of the science behind the breeding thoroughbred racehorses, and the importance of physical activity. Plus of course there will be some games and lots of fun activities to keep younger minds engaged!

The Day Itself

Join us at the National Horseracing Museum for a day of fun, food and physicality!

Children will learn how to prepare and cook healthy lunch and snacks on site. Plus, there will be lots of outdoor activities and games to enjoy, like relay puzzles, circuit training and dodgeball as well as the chance to try out the racing simulator. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn the importance of physical activity to keep fit and healthy just like racehorses! Children can even meet the real racehorses who live on site and explore this fabulous heritage site. A day not to be missed!
