We are delighted to welcome The Recycled Racehorse Falconry Team to the museum on Saturday, 26th March 2022.
Martin and Philippa are a husband and wife team with 5 ex-racehorses retrained to work with birds of prey, showing the true versatility of the retrained racehorse when given the opportunity. They work in teaching, display work and field falconry, and have the only horses in the country that work with Golden eagles.
The display will be fast, informative, educational and entertaining, and will show the relationship of one of the horses, Caymans, a retired flat racer from Godolphin, and the relationship he has with his birds. You’ll find out how their relationship was forged and how two such diverse types of animal became a happy relaxed team.
The day will consist of two shows: 11am – 12pm, and 1pm – 2pm. Why not make a day of it and book lunch at The Tack Room while you’re here?!
