Children’s Saturday Art Club

Our new Children’s Saturday Art Club will take place every month on a Saturday in the Alborada Education Studio at NHRM and will be led by an experienced local artist practitioner, Penny Sobr. Inspired by NHRM’s collection and wider Newmarket, children will have the opportunity to develop new creative skills, test ideas and trial different artforms. Each young person will develop a portfolio of creative work culminating in an opportunity to exhibit their work with an option to gain a Discover Arts Award if they wish. All materials are provided and participants receive a creative kit packed full of art materials to use at home between sessions.

Each session will last for 90 minutes, with a short break in the middle – water and fruit snacks will be available.

Places are FREE and advance booking for this course of six sessions is required.

Two sessions with sixteen places each are available:

• Session one for children aged 6-8 from 10am – 11:30am
• Session two for young people aged 9-11 from 11:45-1:15pm

• Saturday 2 March
• Saturday 6 April
• Saturday 11 May
• Saturday 1 June
• Saturday 6 July
• Saturday 10 August

These sessions are completely FREE but if families would like to contribute to the cost of materials, they are welcome to do so on a ‘pay what you can’ basis.
