Free Family-Friendly Creative Christmas Workshop

This event has closed.

Join us at the National Horseracing Museum and get festive and creative with our FREE artist-led family-friendly Christmas workshop!

The session runs on a drop-in basis from 11am to 3pm on Saturday 17th December 2022. Spaces are limited however, and allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

Our family drop-in creative workshop is free and will be led by Norfolk-based artist Ali Atkins. Taking inspiration from our collection at Christmas time, children will get the opportunity to make – and take home – festive decorations together using a variety of sculpture materials. Suitable for all ages.

The Holiday Activity & Food Fund Programme:

The National Horseracing Museum has teamed up with Suffolk County Council, West Suffolk Council, the Association for Suffolk Museums and the Department for Education for 2022’s The Holiday Activity and Food Fund Programme, also known as The HAF Programme.

If families from the local area are eligible for Free School Meals, picnic bag lunches are available to book in advance from The Bakery in the King’s Yard for children and young people aged 5-16. Simply send an email to Sarah at info@nhrm.co.uk. These picnic bag lunches are provided at no cost to recipients of Free School Meals.

What is The HAF Programme?

The HAF Programme supports children and families in the school holidays, enabling children and young people to enjoy fun activities with friends and develop new skills, particularly those who receive free school meals. Outside of term-time, the HAF Programme provides healthy food and enriching activities to free school meal eligible children in every local authority in England. The Programme was significantly expanded for 2022 and the National Horseracing Museum is proud to be involved in the 2022 scheme across the summer and Christmas holidays.
