HORSEPLAY: Horse Games
Join us for a fun filled day at the National Horseracing Museum watching a variety of lesser-known equine sports in the Peter O’Sullevan Arena. There will be four demonstrations showcasing the versatility of horses as well as activities for everyone to take part in.
Demonstrations will commence from 10.30am, and will include:
10.30am – Arena Polo – A fast paced equestrian ball game display, with played with teams of 3 with the aim of scoring goals via hitting the ball into the opponents goal.
11.30am – Vaulting – Best described as gymnastics and dance on horseback, you truly see the fabulous bond between horse and rider.
1.00pm – Mounted Games – A thrilling sports day like event, that’ll have teams competing against one another in various races, featuring obstacles and skill based activities.
2.00pm – Horseball – Think Netball on horseback, this fast-paced game involves players throwing the ball to reach their opponents goal.
These amazing demonstrations will have to on the edge of your seat, cheering on teams and open you to a world of different equestrian sports.
While visiting the museum you will also have the opportunity to ‘Meet and Greet’ our resident ex-racehorses, have a go at some ‘Stick and Ball’ on the ground, pick up the reins to ride our racing simulator or have a go at hobby horse riding.
