Nichola is a classically trained, professional, and exhibiting artist who studied for several years at renowned ateliers in Italy, France, and America to learn traditional methods that originate from the Renaissance masters. Nichola invites you to learn how to draw the horse through her unique method; the day will involve learning the fundamental principles of drawing: line, shape, proportion, perspective, light theory, value, and shading. In the morning, you will learn the envelope and block-in stages to capture proportion, likeness and movement. After lunch, you will learn about light theory and how to capture the horse’s anatomical structure through shading.
