A Special Outing to Presents Galore
This month Kizzy and Harry, our resident Museum miniature Shetlands have a very special adventure planned! On Saturday 29th November, they’ll be trotting off to Presents Galore at Newmarket’s Rowley Mile Racecourse for a festive day of fun.
This festive event is one of the region’s favourite Christmas fairs, filled with fabulous gifts, seasonal treats and most importantly a chance to get into the festive spirit. If you’re planning on heading to Presents Galore, then be sure to stop by and say hello to Kizzy and Harry, as they love being able to meet new friends and pose for a picture or two!
This is a perfect opportunity for children and families to get up close to these much-loved museum residents, learn a bit about their daily life, and enjoy a magical festive day out.
A Busy Two Years of Adventures
As our Museum Minis look towards their second Christmas here at the National Horseracing Museum, it’s the perfect chance to reflect back on everything they’ve been involved in, as well as the fun and mischief they’ve gotten into.
Last summer they hosted their very own Shetlands’ Tea Party, complete with special selfie moments, and then took part in our spooky NightMARE at the Museum for Halloween, where Kizzy played a starring role. They celebrated their first Christmas at the Museum, delighting visitors with festive cheer and cheekiness, and this year their stable will be transformed into Santa’s Grotto for our Christmas event!
The two of them even ventured to the Rowley Mile’s Spring Meeting, to make a very special appearance and proved very popular!
And lastly, back in the summer, the two of them paired with our resident thoroughbred George, paid a therapy visit to HMP Peterborough, where they helped spread smiles and showcase the calming, positive power of ponies.
Kizzy and Harry have also proven that popular that they’ve been graciously gifted their very own rugs from our great friends at LeMieux.
Not forgetting they now have their very own range in the Museum’s Gift Shop! You’ll have to remember to pick up a memento on your next visit!
