15th – 18th December, 4pm – 5:30pm

Palace House was once the horseracing home of King Charles II during his visits to Newmarket. Today, it is home to paintings and many other works of art. We’re inviting families to join us this festive season as we deck the halls with boughs of holly and light the palace by candles. See the painting and sculptures in a whole new (candle) light, post your letters to Father Christmas, enjoy a classic legend, or a new Christmas tale, read by our fabulous story teller and there will be a competition for the best Christmas jumper!

Charity Partner

We are proud to partner with Newmarket Open Door, a local charity providing homeless and vulnerable young people with supported housing as well as running our local Foodbank. They are providing gifts to the children of the families that need to use the Foodbank this Christmas and would love your support! There will be a box in reception of Palace House during our Candlelight events so if you are able to donate a gift they would really appreciate it. It doesn’t have to be a big or expensive present – these are going to children who will be thrilled to have been in your thoughts. Simply wrap it and include a tag indicating what age it is appropriate for, and Newmarket Open Door will do the rest.

Covid-19

We take the safety of our staff and visitors very seriously. Please ensure that you stay with your household or your bubble and maintain social distancing from other groups. We will be taking the temperature of everyone on arrival on the night and reserve the right to refuse entry if your temperature is over 37.8°C. In line with government guidelines, please ensure that everyone over the age of 11 wears a face covering indoors (unless you are exempt.) We have hand sanitizer spread around the site but please feel free to bring your own

Please note we are unable to offer refunds for this event
