Continuing its 2025 theme of Horseplay, the National Horseracing Museum is opening the town’s very first Escape Room at the end of May. “Accumulated” allows participants to discover the world of horseracing in an immersive, fun packed and challenging new way.

With only 60 minutes on the clock, teams working for the Gambling Agency Fraud Squad (GAFS) must be prepared to be tested and work collaboratively and at speed as they unravel a web of deceit, decode cryptic messages, and piece together hidden clues to recover stolen funds from the seemingly innocuous but sinister Global Investment Financial Syndicate (GIFS). Teams that successfully accomplish the mission within time then have the option to gamble the recovered loot on a wheel of fortune – potentially trebling their prize or losing all of the funds.

Winners will enter a leaderboard, and at the end of the year the top team will receive the prize of a day at the races, and the coveted title of Newmarket’s Escape Room Winners 2025

The “Accumulated” escape room challenge offers a novel way to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, spend fun time with friends or help enhance team bonding amongst work colleagues.

Tracey Harding – COO of National Horseracing Museum said:

“As part of our extensive programming around the current Horseplay Exhibition, we are thrilled to be able to offer something exciting for Newmarket as well as welcoming a new audience to the museum. Whether you are a seasoned puzzle lover or a first timer, we hope friends, family or work colleagues will gather together to try out our new Escape Room.”
