Horseplay: Horse Games

Come along for a fun filled day on Sunday 17th August, as the Museum showcases a variety of lesser-known equine sports in their Peter O’Sullevan Arena. Visitors will be …. with four demonstrations, showcasing the versatility of horses, as well as activities for everyone to take part in.

The day starts with Arena Polo, an equestrian ball game display, at 10:30am, followed by further demonstrations at 11:30am, 1pm and 2pm. In the afternoon there is a chance to reminisce old school sports days, as you watch the local Pony Club Mounted Games Teams compete against one another in diverse relay races. This fast-paced, thrilling equine sport combines hand eye co-ordination, adrenaline, and speed that will have everyone sat on the edge of their seats!

‘Accumulated’ Escape Room

Continuing its theme of HORSEPLAY, the Museum is delighted to play host to Newmarket’s very first Escape Room. This exhilarating experience allows participants to discover the world of horseracing in an immersive, fun packed and challenging new way!

With 60 minutes on the clock, pull your team together to work as part of the Gambling Agency Fraud Squad and prepare to be tested, whilst piecing together hidden clues to recover the stolen funds! Will you complete it before time is up?

Perfect for bringing together friends, family and even colleagues, sessions are available on Saturdays and Sundays, until the end of 2025, and are suitable for two to six people.
