A modern adaptation of the original Trainers House – the fabulous Tack Room Restaurant

The Tack Room Restaurant at NHRM, features the Best of British produce, showcasing seasonal and local produce where possible. Throughout the summer, the outdoor terrace in the Kings Yard provides the perfect space to dine alfresco whilst enjoying our great selection of wines and cocktails.

The Tack Room is accessible to all the public, not just the National Horse Racing Museum ticket holders, and can be accessed via large gates on Palace Street, Newmarket.

Seating accommodates up to 40 people inside and during the summer months, further tables are available in the beautiful King’s Yard that once stabled Charles II’s horses.

The Tack Room gets its name from the original use of the building when Bruce Hobbs occupied it in the 1980s. With views into the Rothschild Yard – stabling up to eight former racehorses in the flagship home to RoR, it is a unique and enchanting setting for a restaurant/café.

Well what can I say, not only is the Tack Room utterly fantastic with its location but it’s scenery is just amazing with brilliant interior design to match. But the food, the food is second to none. I had the best steak I have ever had here not to mention I have travelled around the world trying all different foods but this genuinely blew me away – Paul is a credit to his restaurant with great service from all of the staff.
