quotes

It’s such a great opportunity to get to work and learn at the museum. I’m always getting up to something different, whether that’s creating activities or setting up exhibitions, no two days are the same!

Alana Edgeworth, Community Engagement Trainee 2019-2020

Ever thought about working in a museum?

At the National Horseracing Museum we will be hosting two Community Engagement Trainees from January 2021 for 12 months. Trainees will work towards an NVQ Level 3 in Cultural Heritage and will support the curatorial and community engagement teams to engage people with our museum collections and site. This will include assisting in the planning, delivery and evaluation of activities including workshops, trails, events, exhibitions and collections-related projects.

Transforming People to Transform Museums is a Skills for the Future programme funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund from 2018-2022. It will support museum trainees to develop core heritage and business development skills.

Trainees will be hosted by:

  • The National Horse Racing Museum, Newmarket
  • Colchester + Ipswich Museum Service
  • The Museum of East Anglian Life, Stowmarket
  • The Long Shop Museum, Leiston

Applications close on 31st October 2020
