The museum is looking for local artists based in Suffolk and Cambridgeshire who would like to exhibit their work as part of our Newmarket Open Exhibition from 12 February to 24 April 2022. The aim of the exhibition will be to showcase the diversity of local artists and to engage new audiences.

We invite artists to propose up to four pieces of work to exhibit. Artists’ work will go forward to a selection panel who will choose the artists and pieces to be included in the exhibition. We welcome artwork exploring a variety of media and subject matter.

Selected artworks will need to be brought to the museum in early January so that the layout of the exhibition can be designed. Pieces should be framed, or mounted as needed, ready for installation. Pictures and paintings will be mirror-plated to the walls. The design and installation of the exhibition will be carried out by the museum team.

The exhibition will be free to visit and we encourage artists to be present in the gallery from time to time to engage with visitors. There will be an opportunity to sell the work exhibited as long as the work remains in the exhibition until at least 24 April.

To apply

Please send your details with an A4-size, high-resolution photograph for each of your proposed pieces. We will also need the measurements of each piece and the text for any labels to accompany the artwork.
