Taste Ramadan 2024

This year the Islamic Centre, Newmarket, is joining up with the National Horseracing Museum to host a Taste Ramadan event.

2024 is the fifth year of Taste Ramadan, a nationwide initiative where Muslim organisations, mosques and community hubs across the UK open their doors to invite people from all walks of life, of all faiths and none, to Taste Ramadan; to share food and share friendship.

This is an event for the whole community to come together and to learn about Muslim traditions and share in some fantastic food from local restaurants, including Montaz.

Sarah:

‘We really wanted to celebrate Eid in some way at the museum this year. We got talking together, and Ali, a local community leader, suggested ‘Taste Ramadan’ as something we could do together for the whole community here and we are incredibly excited to be able to host this sharing and celebratory event here at the museum.’

Hassan Mohammed:

‘Ramadan is a special time for us all to appreciate all the blessings god has given us . When a person refrains from simple needs like food and water he truly emphasises with those less fortunate. Taste Ramadan brings community’s from all over to share this experience.’
